Johnnie Tng Chin Hwee
Chief Financial Offcer
Johnnie is concurrently the Chief Financial Offcer of the
Trustee-Manager and the Property Manager. Prior to joining
Ascendas in 2006, Johnnie had held senior corporate fnance
and private equity investment positions. He was Vice President-
Corporate Finance at RGM International, an Indonesian
conglomerate involved in resource-based industries, where he
had led several multimillion dollar mergers and acquisitions.
Before RGM International, Johnnie advised a private investor
on the takeover and subsequent debt restructuring of a
freight forwarding company listed on the Singapore Exchange
Securities Trading Ltd (“SGX-ST”), Freight Links Express
Holding Ltd. Post acquisition, he also structured the disposal of
non-core assets which brought the group back to proftability.
Prior to the above, Johnnie spent the initial ten years of his
career with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (“MAS”),
SBC Warburg and Nomura, where he was largely involved in
investment banking and private equity investments. Johnnie
holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) degree from the
Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.
Chin Yean Cheng
Vice President, Asset & Investment Management
Yean Cheng joined Ascendas in 2006. She has more than
ffteen years of real estate experience. Prior to the current
position, she was Assistant Vice President-Portfolio, Asset
and Risk Management, responsible for monitoring the portfolio
asset performance and capital allocation, and managing the
investment approval and risk assessment process. Prior to
joining Ascendas, she was with Mapletree Investments Pte
Ltd and the CapitaLand Group, where she handled marketing
and leasing, property and asset management functions.
During her tenure with the CapitaLand Group, she worked in
Malaysia and Thailand for over fve years. She was seconded
to set up the country operations, and carried out integrated
asset management of prime offce properties in Kuala Lumpur
and Bangkok. Yean Cheng holds a Bachelor of Business
Administration from the National University of Singapore.
Sandra Chia Sien Inn
Assistant Vice President, Finance
Sandra joined Ascendas in 2007. She is responsible for the
fnance function including SGX-ST reporting and compliance
for a-iTrust. She has 23 years of fnancial and accounting
experience. Prior to joining Ascendas, she was a Financial
Controller at Asurion Asia Pacifc Pte Ltd, a leading provider of
mobile protection services to the wireless telecommunications
industry. Prior to the above, Sandra was with a NASDAQ-
listed company, which was principally involved in operating
network-neutral data centres and internet exchange services.
Sandra holds a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the
Oxford Brooke University (UK).
James Goh Chat Shen
Assistant Vice President, Investor Relations
James oversees the investor relations function for the Trust.
He has over 11 years of experience in the felds of investor
relations, analytical research, and strategic planning. He has
extensive experience in the real estate industry, having worked
in several leading property companies. Prior to joining the
Ascendas Group in 2011, he was a key member of the investor
relations team at Global Logistic Properties, and the Head of
Investor Relations and Research at Frasers Centrepoint Trust.
James is a CFA charter holder and a graduate of Nanyang
Technological University with a Bachelor of Accountancy
(Honours) degree.
Shiva Kumar Konakere Vasappa
Senior Manager, Finance
Shiva has ffteen years of experience in accounting,
fnance, taxation, audit and management reporting across
manufacturing, retail, services, IT and real estate sectors.
Shiva joined Ascendas in 2006, based in India, and was
heading Ascendas’ Bangalore fnance team before he
relocated to Singapore. Prior to joining Ascendas, he was with
IBM, managing forecasting, analysis and reporting. Before
IBM, Shiva worked with Ernst & Young Pvt Ltd (”E&Y”), in
charge of fnancial accounting and reporting and was involved
in fnancial systems implementation for E&Y Global Services.
Shiva holds a Bachelor degree from Kuvempu University,
majoring in Commerce and is a qualifed Chartered Accountant
from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
